He loves me…he loves me not…he loves me…he loves me not…doh! Remember when you used to pick the petals from a daisy whilst saying this sentence, well some things don’t change. As you get older and you meet men you will often come across the dabbling query of “does he like me in that way?” Well instead of having to ponder over this question for a long time there are subtle signs you can look out for in your male friend to see if he likes you in a romantic way.
Sign 1: You’re One of the Boys
There is a difference in the way a man treats you if you likes you in a romantic way and if he likes you in a friendly way. If he likes you in a friendly way then he will have no problem inviting you out to spend time with him and his male buddies, telling you about his successful and unsuccessful sexual exploits and sometimes he will not compliment you on anything girly. If he likes you in a romantic way then the time with his friends would change to just the two of you going out for a nice drink and he would compliment you on how you look and certainly wouldn’t inform you about his exploits.
Sign 2: The Way He Talks to You
Look at the way he talks to you. Does he talk to you in a way that is just usual chitchat without any hesitation? Or does he think about his words before he says them and does he speak in a softer more polite tone? From what I have experienced when I first met my boyfriend and from other peoples experiences when men like you romantically they will often have a shyness about them that will say “please say the right thing so I don’t look like a twit!” whereas men who are not really interested that way are more forward and general. This also leads onto their goodbyes, when he say bye to you does he look you in the eye and then slowly go away giving you a second glance or does he simply say his goodbyes and head on his way without any hesitation.
Sign 3: He Makes You Feel Special
If a man is interested in you romantically then they will always go out of their way to do something special for you or make you feel special. If they are not interested in you in a romantic way but more of a friendly way then they will not really want to bother about impressing you. If you’ve both been friends for a while and he doesn’t do anything special for you then he is really not interested on a romantic level. Now something special does not mean him asking your opinion on what to buy for someone’s birthday or him calling you up to tell you about his favourite football team winning a game.
As much as you may want to have a relationship with this person or take things to the next level you need to make sure your male friend is on the same level as you otherwise you will be heading for a heartbreak and maybe a bit of embarrassment. Looking out for simple signs like these can put you one step ahead in the game.
