Who do You think You are – You’re Single!

It’s funny, I was chatting to a guy I just met and we were talking about our blog.  This is what he had to say:

“You have a blog about relationships and self-improvement?  But, you’re single!  If I was you, I wouldn’t tell your readers that you are single.”

Well, first of all you are NOT me, and second of all, our blog is all about honesty and integrity.  Sharing our stories from both the single and relationship lives of myself and my sister in the hope that you, as our reader, can benefit from them is our aim.

Just because I am single does not mean that I have nothing valuable to contribute from my ten years of dating, relationships and vigorous self-improvement experiences.  In fact, I have a variety of experience to share from all my relationships, the serious, the not so serious, the male friends I have, the female friends I have, the married friends, the single friends, the gay friends, the straight friends, the…well you know what I mean.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but needless to say, after I told him what I thought about his statement, he followed with a rapid apology and words of encouragement to continue on with it.  Not that I needed his words of encouragement, as I would have proceeded anyway, even more now that I know how others will rather suggest lying for their own benefits!  That is not what this blog is about!

Don’t ever let anyone belittle your choices even if it is a choice to be single regardless of whether that choice was yours or someone else’s.

when I first started my blog, I was single as well…staying single doesnt mean youre a looser or you are not entitled to give advices. I love that you show your honesty rather compared to other webs/blogs that claim they are ‘experts’…

for me(and my blog) its about sharing experiences with others rather than ‘teaching’ them…

right?

Hi there!
Well, after reading your post I think I’ll keep on it. From single to single, well done in that conversation :-)

Thanks for the support guys! It really annoys me when people try to tell you all the reasons why you can’t do something…but guess it motivates you to make you want to do it more :)
